Stiles Machinery Inc. is proud to introduce a cost-saving and quality improvement tool to clean abrasive belts with particles of dry ice – on the sander, during production. 
The CryoKinetics patented abrasive belt cleaning not only reduces the replacement costs, but it will also increase productivity from not having to stop production to frequently change belts. Microvellum, Inc. announced the donation of their full software suit to St. Mary’s Academy and College located in Mary’s, Kansas.  St. Mary’s is a private school located in rural northeast Kansas, with over 190 high school students attending.  Presently, they serve their students with two technology education courses:  Drafting I, which covers all aspects of manual drafting techniques; and Drafting II, which is a CAD course.  Beginning 2009, St. Mary’s is expanding their curriculum to incorporate a Manufacturing Enterprise:  Custom Cabinet Making sequence, which will be a design and production curriculum for grades ten through twelve.

Russ joined the Stiles service organization in 1995 and has held several important positions during the past thirteen years. Most recently he served as the company’s Technical Director, Russ’ multi-faceted experiences and his technical expertise make him uniquely qualified for this appointment.

Stiles Machinery Inc. is pleased to announce they hired Reid Giving as an industrial sales engineer to cover the state of Oregon. The state of Oregon was previously covered by David Bakk, who retired from Stiles in December 2007 after 25 years of service to the company.

Granite Mill has received the Best of State’s most prestigious honor, the Best of State Statue, in the category of Manufacturing and Production. Granite Mill joins only nine other companies or individuals, from hundreds of nominees, in Utah to receive a Best of State Statue in 2008.  Granite Mill also was awarded a Best of State Medal in the subcategory of Fixtures and Furniture.

Stiles Machinery Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of a new 100,000 square foot warehouse and distribution facility located near their High Point, North Carolina regional office.

ISEC, Inc. announces the promotion of Mike Polanchyck to Senior Vice President and his appointment to the Company’s Board of Directors.  Mr. Polanchyck is a veteran ISEC employee having been with the company for over 28 years.  He has most recently held the position of Vice President and Regional Manager of ISEC’s Northern California Region. Mike will continue to oversee the Northern California Region and will take on additional Corporate responsibilities as a Board of Directors member.

The Association for Retail Environments (A.R.E.), formerly NASFM, celebrated the 37th anniversary of its awards presentation on Tuesday, March 18, during an awards ceremony in the McCormick Place West Ballroom in Chicago. The presentation, held at the end of the first day of GlobalShop, presented 62 awards to 43 projects for the innovation and quality of their retail environment designs.

Bernhard Woodwork Ltd produced one of 12 Global projects that were selected for a Grand Prize in the category “Softline Shop within a Store” for Saks Fifth Avenue: 8th Floor Shoe Department at the flagship store in downtown NYC.

Star Moulding & Trim celebrated its 50th anniversary January 1st 2008. 
David F. O’Keeffe purchased Star Moulding & Trim in 1958.  The business was located in the heart of Chicago until 1974 when Dave expanded to a larger state of the art facility in Bedford Park, Il.  
David J. (D.J.) O’Keeffe was promoted to president from vice president.  D.J. O’Keeffe (Dave’s son) has been in management at Star for the past 16 years.  David F. O’Keeffe moves to chairman of the board.
