Welcome and thank you for visiting the Architectural Woodwork Institute's online resource center. Click on each tab and read the benefits of being an AWI Member.
Here are definitions of each member type -
Manufacturing Membership - A Manufacturing Member shall be a business that makes architectural woodwork, i.e., specified by the design professionals including all exposed wood and special laminates and other materials.
Supplier Membership - A Supplier Member shall be a business that primarily supplies raw materials, products or services to architectural woodwork manufacturers.
Affiliate Membership - Individuals who wish to support the objective of the architectural woodwork industry and do not qualify as either manufacturer or supplier members may be accepted as Affiliate Members of AWI. i.e. Architect, General Contractor, Design or Woodwork Professional
Student Membership - Individuals who wish to support the objective of the architectural woodwork industry and are enrolled in an accredited university or program.
Manufacturer Member Benefits
Definition per Article III, Section 1 of the AWI Bylaws: "A Manufacturing Member shall be a business that makes architectural woodwork, i.e., specified by the design professionals including all exposed wood and special laminates and other materials."

- Use of the AWI Logo on all your company’s promotional materials
- You company profiled on AWI's website- www.awinet.org
- Your company listing in Design Solutions magazine, AWI's flagship quarterly magazine distributed to over 25,000 architects across North America.
- Participation in the Award of Excellence program. If selected, your company's work will be published in Design Solutions magazine.
- Your company listing in AWI's Membership Resource Directory.
- Design Pro Presentation Modules CD-ROM for making educational presentations to design professionals and deliver AIA Learning Units.

- Cost Book
A 380-page manufacturing members-only cost estimating system. The Cost Book provides industry average labor time required for woodworking operations. Also includes lumber waste factor multipliers, machining tables, and Break Even analysis tables and formulas.
- Cost of Doing Business Survey Report and Compensation Study
AWI’s annual survey designed as a tool to guide owners and key managers to help improve their profits with direct comparisons from companies working in the same industry and region.

- ASA Membership Discount: AWI members pay only $250 to join the American Subcontractors Association. This is a special discounted rate for AWI members only, who like many specialty contractors, face issues such as slow payment, non-payment, rising insurance premiums, unfair risk allocation, inequitable contracts and burdensome regulations. The ASA represents all specialty contractors in the construction industry and advocates on their behalf on Capitol Hill.

Membership Dues:
Annual Manufacturing Membership dues are based on the manufacturing company's gross annual sales**.
Annual Dues Gross Annual Sales
$2,400.00 USD - sales over $2,000,001
$1,200.00 USD - sales between $500,001 to $2,000,000
$ 600.00 USD - sales under $500,000*
*(All manufacturing companies with gross annual sales under $500,000 must additionally complete & submit an AWI Small Business Program application form with membership application.)
**Architectural woodwork sales are defined for dues purposes means: Total sales of exterior and interior woodwork, panel work, partition work, casework and fixtures as supplied or manufactured for all types of buildings. All components and related services preformed by an AWI member thereto are included, which are further identified as including wood, metal, laminates, plastics, fabrics, glass, doors, windows, hardware, design work, finishing and installation. Each declaration shall further include total sales of all plants operating under a single entity. Supplier Member Benefits

Membership Dues:
Annual Supplier membership dues are based on the supplier company's gross annual sales.
Annual Dues Gross Annual Sales
$1,100 USD - sales over $10,000,001
$ 900 USD - sales between $5,000,001-$10,000,000
$ 700 USD - sales under $5,000,000 Affiliate Membership Benefits
Definition per Article III of the AWI Bylaws: "Individuals who wish to support the objective of the architectural woodwork industry and do not qualify as either manufacturer or supplier members may be accepted as Affiliate Members of AWI."

Membership Dues:
Affiliate membership dues are $75.00 for the first year and only $25.00 to renew each year after. Student Membership Benefits

Student membership dues are $20.00; no other publications, benefits, or discounts are associated with AWI Student Membership.
